BBH creates Singapore’s first ever Tip Jar

BBH Asia Pacific has created a Facebook-powered machine that 'tips' service establishments across Singapore, to promote the second series of the TV show Can You Serve?.

Through canyouserve.com, Facebook users can vote for their favourite service establishment. For every vote, the whimsical machine drops a dollar into the jar and displays a personalised Thank You. The 3×3 meter contraption is loaded with ten thousand $1 coins and will live at ION shopping centre's basement 4 over the next few weeks. After which the contents of the jar will be awarded to the establishment with the most votes, and a few lucky voters will win prizes from the establishments featured in the TV show.

Can You Serve? is an eight-part reality TV show which seeks Singapore's customer service superstar through a series of weekly service challenges. The show airs on Tuesdays, 9pm on Mediacorp Channel 5 and was produced by active TV in partnership with BBH, on behalf of GEMS UP, and supported by the Restaurant Association of Singapore, Singapore Hotel Association and Singapore Retailers Association. Media is by MEC.

Said Noel Yeo, Creative Director, BBH Asia Pacific: "How much is a Like worth? We've all done it, but does it mean anything? How about $1 to your favourite establishment for every Like?"

Said Richard Powell, Head of Content, BBH Asia Pacific: "The cast, the challenges, and the production make Can You Serve? one of Singapore's great home-grown TV formats. Which is essential, if it is to achieve its objective of improving the reputation and standards of Singapore's service industry."
