Sometimes it just takes one brave person to stand up to the man and start a revolution. In this case the revolutionary was the tax-avoiding bean counters at the UK’s Financial Times who had had enough of the vast profits Apple have been making on their behalf. The gamble paid off and they now have more subscribers than ever which they can control and profit from directly.
Will this trigger the “Apple Spring” and lead us out of the app store dictatorships in to a new world of HTML5 freedom? I’m sure Tim Berners-Lee would hope so.
