Facebookers can now ‘like’ on the run with Coca-Cola’s new Like Machine, which Israeli teens took advantage of at the recent Coca-Cola Village summer camp. Camp attendees were all given electronic wristbands containing their Facebook login details, which they swiped across microchip readers throughout the Village to update their Facebook in real time. Various attractions and activities were available to like including swimming pools, massage tents and food stalls. The bands also autotagged wearers in photos.
The real world integration of Facebook was a huge success, with an average of over 35,000 posts for each cycle of the camp – especially impressive considering this data represents the work of only 650 individuals. The mind boggles as to where this social microchipping technology will go next. Where would you like to like? Let us know in the comments field.
