In recent news Kickstarter is soon to launch in Australia and New Zealand. You can watch people draw an Aussie and NZ flag on a chalkboard while you wait: http://www.kickstarter.com/australia
You can also submit your project and they will give you the heads up when it’s all ready to roll.
On Sunday September 1st there is a free event ‘Kickstarter School Sydney” being hosted by the creative folk at Work-Shop in Chippendale, Sydney. The Director of Product at Kickstarter, Leland Rechis, will be speaking, giving some first-rate insights and pointers on how to bring a Kickstarter Project to life. He’ll be showing some Kickstarter success stories and what marketing strategies work best.
You can add yourself to the waiting list via Eventbrite https://www.eventbrite.com/event/7986232035
This looks like it would be a really interesting event whether you have a start-up project in mind or want to learn more about the crowdsourcing trend.
Hi Dani,
I’m currently working on putting a project on Kickstarts. The technology related project stats providided in the session is really useful for me when preparing our project. I’m just wondering if we can have a copy of the slides so we can do research on it.
Best regards,
Tuan
Hi Tuan,
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to attend. However, jump on their site, it looks like they have some case studies and info sections http://www.kickstarter.com/hello?ref=au_promo
