Pantone Colour of the Year is… EMERALD!

The 2012 color of the year, PANTONE 17-1463 Tangerine Tango, a spirited reddish orange, provided the energy boost we needed to recharge and move forward.

Emerald, a vivid verdant green, enhances our sense of well-being further by inspiring insight as well as promoting balance and harmony.

Pantone’s colour of the year is selected through reflection on influences such as art, travel, sport, technology, design and fashion, and is intended as a barometer of which colour is likely to appear most heavily in creative projects in the coming year.

It will be interesting to see if Emerald’s influence wil extend to web design too…
