A history of Google acquisitions

This year alone Google has purchased reMail (for Gmail), Slide, Aardvark, Like, and invested in Facebook game giant Zynga. Previous acquisitions include reCAPTCHA, YouTube, Jaiku, FeedBurner, and Trendalyzer.

What will Google’s next buy-out be as the search giant attempts to embrace the social web? Just this month it bought Ångströ, an intelligent search service focussed on professional networks and hired its founder to work on Google Me, Google’s attempt at  a social platform to rival Facebook. Social currency company and maker of the Social Gold platform, Jambool was also bought by Google earlier this month. Can’t wait to see Google’s social developments in the months to come.
