Over 84 per cent of Australian babies have an online presence before they are two years old! An AVG study has found that western countries are uploading images of small children at an incredible rate – 92 per cent of American babies are online – mostly on photo-sharing sites such as Facebook. And it’s not just doting mums doing the uploading, with only a third of those surveyed saying they shared their kids’ information online – family and friends are major culprits too.

AVG said

“Obviously there’s a privacy issue,” said AVG spokeswoman Siobhan MacDermott, “if they’re applying for credit [later on] and having that information readily available for people who want to compromise their identities.”

Something tells me applying for credit will be the least of baby Megatron‘s problems…
