I love Twitter’s new Activity feature

Loving this engaging new feature which shows you what people you follow have been up to in the form of a separate feed. It’s a nice complement to the main feed of un-curated, raw, chronological stream of consciousness.

It’s a great discovery tool, effectively delivering personalised Twitter Trends – showing you what content is trending among those you are connected to, as opposed to topics which are buzzing across Twitter or in your region.

Beyond trending content, which is based upon keyword incidences within tweets, Activity goes a step further by highlighting trending actions such as @profiles which are being followed by your connections, and the content which is being favourited by your Twitter cohort. This information could only previously be reached by visiting individual profiles and viewing their Followers or Favourites.

It’s already delivered, alerting me to the presence of @80seddiemurphy, recently followed by @VirginMobileAus. (Stating The Obvious Warning: he’s sweary.)
