Samsung Australia is set to launch an assault on the Android devices market with a new Galaxy S Android phone and a new Android tablet PC that looks remarkable like an iPad and has a phone calling capability.
The move will see the Korean Company go head to head with HTC who are currently witnessing significant growth for their Android based device which are being sold by Telstra and Vodafone as well as mass retailers.
It will also strengthen Google’s grip on the Smartphone and tablet market in Australia up against Apple.
The new Samsung Galaxy S Android phone will incorporate the same processor as the iPhone 4/HD and iPad. The ARM Cortex A8 processor is currently built into the new AppleA4 which is delivering blistering speed for iPad users.
Their new Android based tablet PC has a stunning new 7″ AMOLED display screen. It also has a USB port and a 3.5mm jack.
The new tablet device was unveiled on Samsung‘s official South Africa Twitter feed yesterday.
Samsung executives in Australia have confirmed that invitations will shortly go out for the launch of the Android based Galaxy S phone.
Samsung sources have also told SmartHouse that the Korean Company plans to launch several Android based tablets, in various sizes.
The new tablet device which is expected in Australia shortly has a TouchWiz overlay and icons on leaked images of the device show a phone icon on the screen.
