According to Nielsen, guys are more likely to prefer Google’s Android platform over Apple’s iPhone, which is more of a hit with the ladies. 33 percent of guys rate Android, versus the 29 percent who prefer iPhone. And only 23 per cent of women say Android would be their first choice, versus 31 percent for iPhone. BlackBerry chimes in at third with both genders, courting 13 percent of both groups.
Nielsen reports that 29.7 percent of all U.S. mobile subscribers own smartphones that run “full operating systems” like Android, or the iPhone OS. The iPhone and BlackBerry are fighting it out overall device dominance with around 27 percent of the market each, but Android isn’t far behind at 23 percent.
