I may be a little late to the party with this one, but I’ve just stumbled across the Tourism New Zealand website. Smart use of HTML5 Canvas and some elegant Flash fallbacks for older browsers (theres one of you Flash haters out there -she ain’t dead yet ) presents an engaging website that allows users to explore some of the wonderful sites of New Zealand. Be sure to check out the AU and international versions, they’re slightly different.
And for all you tech-heads out there, Smashing Mag has a great ‘behind the scenes’ article on whats under the hood. Some truely inspiring left-field thinking.
