So I have not one, but two toddlers. There was a quote I read once from some very insightful philosophy book (okay, it was from a Jason Bateman movie) that likened toddlers to drug addicts:
“Having children, is, it’s like living with little mini drug addicts. You know, they’re laughing one minute, and then they’re crying the next, and then they’re trying to kill themselves in your bathroom for no good reason. They’re very mean and selfish and they burn through your money and they break shit…”
While I might not go as far as to compare my little dudes to mini drug addicts, I would definitely concur that a great deal of time as a parent is spent trying to work out why, for example, putting pyjamas on every single night needs to resemble a running of the bulls. So I welcome this beautiful, insightful phrenology of a toddlers brain by Melissa Balmain.
Clever and funny. Thought-provoking for parents and marketers alike.
