E-shopping going strong

I’ve noticed in particular on Oxford St in Sydney the dilema stores are having staying open. It’s been quoted as a ghost town in The Telegraph and as I walk past it on my way to work everyday I could swear 1 in 3 stores has a for lease sign. Paddington suffers the problem of high rental costs but clearly online shopping is winning as the article in AFR states.

“The troubles of traditional shopfront retailing have been well reported. But even the keyboard and mouse version of shopping, which has caused so many problems for bricks-and-mortar shopkeepers, is showing nothing like the momentum it had a year ago.”
