I’m not sure if it ever was cool, but this is why I still love Quora – it serves me the answers to questions I’d never imagine to ask, such as the trends over time of popular terms of derision.
Quora is a question-and-answer website created, edited and organized by its community of users. The site was founded in June 2009, launched in private beta in December 2009, and made available to the public on June 21, 2010.

According to the Google DoubleClick Ad Planner, 83,000 Australians visited Quora in April 2012. They were likely to be aged 35-54 (86%), tertiary educated (83%), male (79%) and earning in excess of $75,000 a year (61%).
From the sites also visited (thenextweb.com, github.com, stackexchange.com) and interests (open source, web stats and analytics, development tools) they are also likely to be proper nerds.
