The Serial Space collective presents Time Machine, a brand new platform for the development and presentation of time-based art in Sydney. The festival 18 – 29 July 2012 will showcase local, interstate and international experimental musicians, durational performance art, audio/visual installations, sites for creative experimentation, artist talks, performance lectures and debates. Time Machine also includes a series of gigs featuring international guest Keith Fullerton Whitman and a selection of Australia’s most interesting experimental musicians.
The 12 day program presents works and performances from 45 Artists across 5 streams featuring gigs, talks, lab, performance and exhibition formats as well as a Festival Bar and official limited edition catalogue.
Serial Space is curatorial collective, a space and a community made up of 5 artists who have collectively curated the festival program including art, experimental music, electronic art, new media art and performance art. The Serial Space collective aims to support non-traditional practices and artists who undertake ambitious, non-commercial and experimental projects: Tom Smith, Jennifer Hamilton, Kate Blackmore, Pia van Gelder and Frances Barrett.
