Your brain switches from left to right regularly. The speed it switches is different for different people.

Mathematicians for example, spend a long time on one side of their brain (thinking through tough problems), while musicians jump between left and right (musical scales being used for improvisation).

In both cases, stare at a central dot intently. Some dots will disappear. Keep staring, because they will come back. Your brain just switched from left to right to left.
