I like movies, but I’d like to be in them even more. When I’m in the car and a sad song comes on the radio, I stare out the window and act like I’m the protagonist of a bad Hollywood movie. Yes, I am one of those people. Squinting and staring at a point on the horizon, pretending to contemplate life. Maybe lighting a cigarette and putting my Ray Bans on.

I am excited to see that Coca-Cola are catering for that hunger to pretend. For the ones that are addicted to a dramatic and eventful life where adrenaline is replacing that flat, white day. Click here to open some happiness:

It is not hard to draw the parallel with one of my favourite campaigns of all time: the Why So Serious campaign for the Dark Knight where normal people got recruited to participate in this alternative reality surrounding Batman.

Here are some videos you might enjoy

or if you would like to read more about how they did it, I found the following article very interesting:

So are people fascinated with movies because they aspire a more exciting life? I believe so. Protagonists don’t need to go to dentist appointments, visit Grandma or do their car rego renewals. I’ll just go sit on a bench in a park now, and wait for a guy in a suit to turn up with a locked briefcase and whisper a cryptic message.

Cause, let’s face it. Movies are better than life.

  1. You know, I dream of the day that I come across a campaign like the above Coke campaign somewhere in the streets of Sydney. This looks like an absolute blast!

  2. Agreed Ben – I would have smashed right through that pane of glass!
