Rasberry Pi, no, not a tasty treat that your mum cooked when you were growing up..
Raspberry Pi / Cubieboard are basically PCs with inbuilt Arduino boards. (Yes, the boards that interface the digital world to the analogue one.)
They run various distributions of Linux / Android, but still have all the external pins to connect to things like sensors, lights, switches, etc that you find in the real world.
This means you can develop, test, and build all your software on the board itself, instead of needing a separate computer to work with them.
And they’re small too…
